100% Elite Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky bluegrass is a popular choice for its emerald, blue-green colour. It does well in Canada's cooler climate, growing most vigorously in the spring and fall. KBG likes lots of sun but also performs in moderate shade and can stand up well to low-cut mowing. It's particularly sought after for its lush, dense and durable qualities, and especially its ability to self-spread via rhizomes that spread out laterally. This process creates a dense, thick stand of turf that can recover quickly from damage. Some patience is required when planting a Kentucky Bluegrass lawn as germination takes longer than other cool season grasses (7-14 days), but those who wait are rewarded with a dark, lush and durable lawn.

33% Jumpstart Kentucky Bluegrass

Jumpstart is the quickest establishing elite Kentucky Bluegrass on the market. It is a Unique/America hybrid with a medium dark green colour, medium-fine texture and good density. It has good heat tolerance, moderate drought tolerance, stays green longer than most other Bluegrasses, and has quick recovery after drought and summer stress. Jumpstart has great early spring green up and is resistant to billbugs, summer patch syndrome, powdery mildew, red thread, leaf spot, dollar spot, leaf rust, stripe smut, stem rust, pink snow mold and typhula blight.

33% Endurance Kentucky Bluegrass

Endurance is the latest compact, elite type Kentucky bluegrass released by Pure-Seed Testing. Endurance is a hybrid tracing to
Midnight and Northstar. The variety was selected for overall turf quality, spring green-up, and exceptional rust resistance. Endurance has good overall disease resistance allowing this variety to “ENDURE” high levels of stress across a wide geographical range. Endurance was in the top statistical group for all NTEP locations. It has good resistance to salt, dollar spot, summer patch and pink snow mold.

Endurance is an elite bluegrass for professional turfgrass applications. It mixes well and compliments perennial ryegrass and tall fescue. Endurance can handle low mowing .50” (1.25 cm.) and is a perfect fit for any high-end turf situation. Endurance is unique in that it is an elite bluegrass that can perform under low maintenance conditions, unlike traditional Midnight-type varieties, Endurance has exceptional leaf spot and rust resistance.

33% Prosperity Kentucky Bluegrass

Prosperity Kentucky Bluegrass provides outstanding turf quality, very dark colour, and tolerates low mowing. Prosperity has a low growth habit and high density, with a medium fine leaf texture and a very dark blue-green colour. Prosperity demonstrates high heat tolerance as well as excellent leaf spot resistance, stripe rust resistance, and powdery mildew resistance.
